Director & Volunteer
I have been fortunate throughout my life to be involved with many organisations as a Director and as a volunteer, in addition to my usual work. I am a graduate of the International Company Director Program offered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and have strategy, governance, communications, education and legal experience which Boardss can find valuable. At the same time, I have had a lot of fun and gained valuable experience and skills, helping to guide organisations and in my other volunteer work.
Below is a summary of some of the higher level Director and volunteer work I have done. I have also been involved in working with sports and community groups as a committee member, event organiser and volunteer.
director
I have been a Director of a range of organisations, starting with our family company in the 1980s after completing my Law degree.
I was Appointed as a Member for the Australian Clinical Dosimetry Service Oversight Committee, an independent committee that provides independent business and management advice and oversees the current transition of the ACDS. Appointed members provide business expertise and are appointed to ensure the AOC has a broad base of membership and skills. I was a member of the Oversight Committee from November 2017 until December 2020 when my term expired.
I was appointed as an Independent Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Credentialing Council which recommends suitably qualified Registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists for recognition of their special expertise in Hand Therapy to the Australian Hand Therapy Association. Sitting fees were paid for this position. I served on the Council from January 2018 until August 2019.
I am currently a director of organisations related to Self-Managed Superannuation. I am looking for opportunities to help out with new organisations.
